Fitness athletes will close and open the new year at an international competition

This is what we heard from William Erasmus, president of the Functional Fitness Federation Aruba (F3A). After a successful national event a few weeks ago, the focus has now shifted to competitions abroad. Young athletes are preparing to represent our island in Mexico and America in the coming weeks.

Besides the competitions in this month still as well as at the end of January, Erasmus said they have, as a federation, various other international events on the horizon already for 2023. “In Aruba, if we are being honest, there are no competitions, that is why we stimulate them to go abroad in order to continue developing,” explained Erasmus.

Because Fitness is not considered an olympic discipline yet, the foundation does not yet qualify to receive funds from the “Comite Olimpico Arubano”. It is thanks to their own dedication that they have been able to raise funds through ticket raffles as well as other activities, to reach their financial goals. Even so, F3A would like to thank Lucky Electronics for their cooperation throughout the year as well as the brand Powerade who has also contributed to the events.
