Police and paramedics were called to the scene of an accident on the L.G. Smith Boulevard bridge in Oranjestad. Two vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision.
The accident occurred around 5:00 pm near the beginning of the bridge which is better known as the Renaissance bridge. A black Toyota Vitz (A-7751) read-ended a grey Hyundai Sonata (A-57355) resulting in a possible injury of a pregnant woman after her seatbelt pressed down on her abdomen.
The occupant was immediately assisted by paramedics who then transported her to the hospital. Traffic was backed up due to the accident but was later cleared after police finished documenting the incident.
