Saturday morning at around 1:25 am, a serious accident occurred on a road in Ponton. The crash was between a Chevrolet and a white motorcycle. According to witnesses at the scene, and video evidence later confirmed, the Chevrolet was coming from Playa and went to take a left turn into Arqui’s Grill when they failed to see an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle tried to avoid the collision, but it was too late.
The material damage was significant for both the motorcycle as well as the car. Both victims were treated at the scene but were later transported to the hospital for further medical care.
The police closed off the road to report the accident and tend to those involved. The last accident to occur on this spot was back on November 27th, and was fatal.
