Minister Geoffrey Wever: Gas price to decrease slightly tomorrow

Every second Wednesday of the month, fuel prices in Aruba are adjusted, either going up or down. Minister of Economic Affairs, Communication and Sustainable Development, Mr. Geoffrey Wever, has announced that fuel prices will drop tomorrow, on March 8, 2023. The prices of diesel and kerosene will decrease significantly, but the price of gasoline will only drop slightly.

Gasoline will decrease by 4.9 cents and will be priced at 257.6 cents per liter. Diesel will be priced at 234.8 cents per liter, after a decrease of 25.5 cents. Kerosene has also decreased, and its new price is 222.4 cents per liter, which is a reduction of 47.7 cents. All prices include BBO/BAZV/BAVP.

The majority of the revenue from food sales goes to the government. The government generates significant income through the sale of fuel in various ways. The government generates millions through Fuels Marketing & Supplies Aruba (FMSA), which imports and resells the product, through excise taxes, and also through two switches of BBO, which add up to a total of 14% on BBO alone!
