This morning, the people in Werfstraat, right next to the former Aruba Crystal Ice Industry, were met with a pile of trash in the middle of the street. Cars were not even able to pass through as unknown individuals littered the entire road with trash and abandoned the scene.
Dienst Openbare Werken (DOW) personnel were activated right away to clean the area. An appeal is made to the public to please not dispose of your trash in public areas such as this. Be reminded that there are laws set in place to prohibit this and that this could lead to serious fines.
Werfstraat is the street that runs parallel to the cruise port in Playa. Therefore, many tourists frequent the area, for which this type of action could have serious consequences. Being met with a street littered with trash is definitely not in line with all of our efforts to promote Aruba as a safe, clean, and beautiful vacation destination.
