Curacao & Bonaire import meat from Colombia: it is now up to Aruba to do the same

Ernst Noorman is the ambassador of the Dutch Embassy for Colombia and a member of one of the teams for the importation of meat from Colombia to Aruba. Aruba is making it difficult to import meat from Colombia, and Ernst Noorman says that this topic has been discussed for quite some time already. Aruba wants to import meat but has put strict regulations in place which make it difficult. Our sources have informed us that Bonaire also imports its meat from Colombia.

Aruba finds itself limited by the strict regulations it has in place. To import meat from Colombia, a proper butcher must be selected and the goods have to be properly inspected by a certified inspector before we are able to import good-quality meat properly from Colombia.

Unlike Aruba with its strict meat requirements, Curacao and Bonaire do not have such restrictions, which makes it possible for them to import meat from Colombia. Ernst Noorman believes that with consistent inspections, it should be possible to import meat from Colombia to Aruba safely.
