It all started around 4:15 pm when the owner of a silver Mazda Atenza alerted the authorities that someone had just stolen their car in Tanki Leendert. Apparently, the owner had gotten out of the car and left it running. In the blink of an eye, the car was gone.
In no time, the police started searching for the stolen vehicle. The car was first spotted in the streets of Bushiri, where the two people inside were reportedly speeding. From there, a police officer managed to spot the car in Madiki Kavel. Two young men got out of the car and made a run for it, leaving both the vehicle and the stunned officer behind.
Luckily there were a lot of police officers in the area, so it took a total of 3 minutes before the thieves were caught near Dyon Center. The two individuals were promptly detained for joyriding and taken to the police station. There, they will have to present in front of a persecutor who will determine whether they walk free or face incarceration.
