Nigel Maduro detained in connection to the vandalism of the monument in Eagle Beach

The Aruba Police Force sent out communications that an individual had been detained in relation to the vandalism that took place in Eagle Beach last month.

It occurred during the early morning hours of September 29th. When officers drove by the monument next to Amsterdam Manor, they noticed the graffiti on the newly placed monument. The monument in question is the new leatherback sea turtle monument that was placed on a roundabout in Eagle Beach. The officers immediately notified the central office, who then went on to notify the ones in charge of the monument.

The detectives were also notified, and they commenced their investigation into the matter right away. 

Earlier this week, on Tuesday the 10th of October, detectives detained 27-year-old Nigel Maduro in relation to this vandalism. The police have also informed us that more arrests are likely to follow in relation to this case.
