Drunk driver causes a chain collision

Monday evening just after 6:30 pm, a chain collision occurred in front of the former iStore in Ponton. The accident involved a silver Hyundai as well as three other vehicles.

For some reason, the driver of a van failed to regulate his speed and rear-ended a dark blue Toyota Vitz, which then went on to hit a black BYD in front of it, which then hit into an Isuzu Dimax pickup.

The police arrived at the scene to tend to the accident, and upon their arrival, they requested an ambulance to tend to two individuals who had been injured in the crash. Paramedics rushed to the scene and commenced providing the two victims with medical attention.

In the meantime, the police noticed that the driver of the Hyundai appeared to be intoxicated. They conducted an alcohol test on the man and he turned out to be driving while under the influence of alcohol.
