This past weekend, once again, the police were called to tend to various incidents in the Bushiri area. There was much to be desired from the behavior of some young people who do not grasp the importance of an activity of such magnitude for our island.
Visitors who came to watch Beach Tennis were faced with the unpleasant and violent scenes that took place. It is regrettable, with how much has been invested not only financially but also in efforts to promote our island as a tourist destination, that some unruly individuals ruin it for everyone present. It should be noted that most of these incidents occurred outside the actual event and, as such, were handled by the police.
This Sunday was no exception. Shortly before 12:00 a.m., another altercation occurred, this time involving both men and women. Amidst shouting and resistance, the person involved was placed in a police vehicle and detained. A large crowd had to be dealt with on-site, as they were behaving poorly and assaulting each other in the middle of the road.
