Focusing on the Airport Community’s Health and Wellbeing

ORANJESTAD – Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) Wings of Hope recently organized a Health and Wellbeing Drive-Thru Check on December 12 and December 13, 2023, for the entire Airport Community. Each year, AAA Wings of Hope focuses on executing socially responsible projects that have a positive impact for the local community.

All projects are based on one or more of United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and this year the projects focused on SDGs such as Eliminate Hunger (SDG 2), Quality Education (SDG 4), Reduce Inequalities (SDG 10), Health and Wellbeing (SDG 3), Climate Action (SDG 13), Life below Water (SDG 14), Life on Land (SDG 15), and Partnership (SDG 17). The Airport Community Health and Wellbeing Drive-Thru Check was a 2-day event at the airport where all stakeholders, third parties, and vendors were invited to pass by the Airport’s VIP room to complete their personal health check. More than 350 airport community members attended the event.

The drive-thru health check included a screening based on blood pressure, body weight, blood glucose test, and body mass index (BMI) calculation. Once the health check was complete, each person received a healthy snack and refreshment. The Airport Community also had the chance to participate in one of the four combo Yoga and Pilates 1-hour classes given by Yoga instructor Dagmara Ava to encourage relaxation and mindfulness. Aligned with AAA’s Health and Wellness goals, the 2-day Health and Wellbeing Drive-Thru Check event organized by AAA’s Wings of Hope, was to encourage our Airport community to focus on their physical wellbeing by taking preventive measures and on their lifestyle behavior choices to ensure health, avoid preventable diseases and conditions, and to live in a balanced state of body and mind.

For 2024, AAA Wings of Hope looks forward to continuing its contribution to projects that create a better future for the local community.
