The U-23 beach volleyball team competes in the Dominican Republic

With the support of the Minister of Education and Sports, Endy Croes, the “Stichting Sportsubsidie Aruba” and “Lotto pa Deporte”, the National Beach Volleyball Teams of Aruba have departed for Santo Domingo, where they will compete in the “U-23 Beach Volleyball” and the “Final Beach Circuit of NORCECA 2023.”

The countries participating in this competition are the Dominican Republic, Canada, Cuba, Costa Rica, the United States, Bermuda, St. Kitts & Nevis, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Anguilla, St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

The discipline of beach volleyball is crucial for the athletes and Aruba because, through these tournaments, Aruba will accumulate ranking points. With these points, Aruba ensures continued participation and can compete in 2024.

Athletes Gregory de La Cruz, Joshua Hoepelman, Vladimir Solovey, and Thelion Coutinho are competing in this tournament. The coach is Elmerlindo Robles de Medina. Under the guidance of the coach, the athletes have trained with dedication and determination. These international competitions provide a unique opportunity for the development of these athletes, and it is necessary because, through these competitions, athletes can continue to develop to a much higher level in beach volleyball.
