During the Jouvert Morning parade in the San Nicolas district, there was a significant police presence to maintain public order. One thing is certain, alcohol consumption remains high, as it does every year.
The incident occurred specifically on Dr. Schaepmanstraat at around 6:20 am. The police had warned the man to ‘take it easy’, as they could see he was taking shots like there’s no tomorrow. This was a recipe for disaster.
Eventually, the man got so intoxicated that he fell and injured his face badly against a curb. An ambulance was called to the scene immediately.
He couldn’t stand on his own two feet. His face was completely covered in blood. After a considerable amount of time, the man’s brother arrived at the scene and carried him back home.
