Kris Switser: It wasn’t easy to get to Aruba with a wheelchair

For the 25-year-old young traveler, reaching Aruba wasn’t an easy journey. This is because they need to travel with an electric wheelchair. They had to pay for an extra seat on KLM to be able to come to Aruba. This is Kris Switser, a YouTuber who has traveled to 20 countries within Europe. This demonstrates that being in a wheelchair does not limit a person with a disability.

Kris Switser, an explorer, explained that this is their first time in Aruba, but it’s also their first time leaving Europe. Switser has already visited 20 countries, including Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Portugal, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, the Canary Islands, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Spain, Lithuania, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia. Aruba is their 21st destination.

Switser came to Aruba by plane with their wheelchair, but it wasn’t easy. Apparently the airline had some complications with wheelchair transportation. Nevertheless, they made it in the end.

The wheelchair has an electric motor so that the user doesn’t need to use their hands much. This is essential as they have limited control over them. They have now been in Aruba for more than ten days, but  their two-week vacation will soon come to an end.

The goal is to explore the world and learn about other cultures. They also want to see what they are capable of doing, despite being wheelchair bound.  “Everything is possible in life,” they expressed.
