On Friday during the day, a peculiar incident occurred on the south ramp at the airport. The strong wind generated by a large airplane caused a smaller one to shift from its position.
The large cargo plane from Amerijet was taxiing to reach the runway for takeoff. It was stationed on the south ramp. The wind pressure caused the smaller plane’s tail to tilt and eventually topple over.
Although it may seem amusing that the large plane overpowered the small one, one must see the extent of the damage to the small plane. It hit its right wing on the ramp, causing potential damage to the small plane, and it’s something that needs to be thoroughly inspected before the small plane takes off.
It’s unclear if there is any party at fault in this. Logically, the pilot of Amerijet did not anticipate something like this.
