Early Saturday morning the Taekwondo Team Aruba could be seen training intensely. As early as 7:00 am, the first whistle blew, and the training commenced.
The younger members were actively training in quite an intensive manner. They undergo intensive training in preparation for their upcoming international competitions. This is not only due to that, but recently, an international championship took place in Aruba, where the results were not fruitful for the Aruba team.
The Americans put up a tough fight and showed respect for our athletes. Despite that, now is the time to correct and learn from our mistakes. Melvin Garcia, the team spokesperson, mentioned that the team is a world champion, and wherever they go, the public respects them. However, he feels that during the last championship, the athletes became overly confident, leading to not winning every match. Learning from these mistakes and improving, the goal is to showcase Aruba’s face and name in the upcoming championship once again.
