Pirate taxi caught with tourists in the hotel area

For some weeks now, authorities have been monitoring a white Kia Rio with license plate A-63782 that has been working as an illegal taxi. On Thursday night, they caught him in action as he was picking up tourists in the hotel area.

He’s presenting himself as an Uber driver. Some time ago, the police stopped him with a red Kia. When things got heated, he apparently changed the car from red to white. Thursday night, authorities were alerted because the white Kia was spotted on the street. The man with last name Croes, tells legal taxi drivers that he’s Rocco’s family, and nobody can touch him. Some days ago, those who saw the police stop him in the red Kia even heard him tell the authorities to “call Rocco”.

He acts as if he is Rocco’s family, and Rocco gets him out of his uncomfortable situations. Thursday night, he dropped people off at the Marriott and then went on to pick up more tourists, and the beach police met him on South Beach in front of Casa Tua.

They stopped the car and detained the driver. There were four tourists inside the car at that moment, and the police went on to take their statements.

It is now up to the prosecutor to make a good decision regarding this pirate taxi. The police confiscated his vehicle and there’s a good chance he will lose the car.
