Colombian music producers come to Aruba to collaborate with local talent

The connections between Aruba and Colombia continue to grow, even more so in ways where we have begun to exchange culture, cuisine, and art with each other even more over the past few years. Recently, we can also see more and more Arubans visiting Colombia, doing business, sharing information, art, and more with each other, and now vice versa as well.

Recently, a group of Colombian music producers came to Aruba to collaborate with local talent and also begin promoting themselves here as well. Daniel Cano, known as Deezy from the group Los Money Makers from Medellin Colombia, a composer and music engineer with Kapital Music, which is one of the three largest music labels in Latin America. They make Reggaeton music and have worked with several popular personalities, including El Dominio, Yandel, and various artists from the new wave of Colombian artists.

Currently, they are on the island to work with new talent from Aruba, representing the Urban movement and the talent that exists here. “I hear that there is a growing movement, and that’s important when you knock on the door of a big artist, you have to create something that the local audience can see and say here comes something big! The most important thing is that the movement here is just about to set off and they hope to do really big things,” according to Cano.

Simon Cano, known as Prime, is another music producer from the group who is very interested in seeing what all Aruba has to offer in terms of talent. He finds Aruba to be an inspirational place. “I have some days where I am limited in my ideas because we have been working with the same people for a long time, who, thank God, are international and strong artists, but the fact of being in a totally different place and country is a complete inspiration to make new rhythms and songs, to create things totally different from what we are used to,” says Cano
