German tourist suffers a stroke on a cruise ship passing Aruba

In the late afternoon, the Maritime Operational Center (MOC) of the Coast Guard received a message requesting medical assistance. This involved a 66-year-old German passenger on a cruise ship coming from the north of Aruba who had fallen ill.

Immediately, contact was made with the doctors on duty at CITRO, who, after evaluating the situation with the onboard medical team, determined that he was having a stroke.

A helicopter was immediately dispatched to evacuate the individual. Ambulance members received the passenger at Queen Beatrix International Airport and transported the tourist to the hospital for medical treatment.
