Annual Report 2023: Emphasizing its vision, strategy, and impact on the community

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) is pleased to announce the publication of its Annual Report for the year 2023. This report not only highlights AAA’s vision, strategy, and goals but also demonstrates the fundamental role the airport plays in the Aruban community.

At AAA, our vision is to become one of the most sustainable, secure, and future-proof airports in Latin America and the Caribbean. This includes goals such as providing a reliable workplace with modern facilities and excellent customer service to reflect Aruba’s hospitality and contribute to a prosperous future for the island. Our strategy is based on four key pillars: organizational and personnel development, service quality, innovation and new opportunities, sustainability, and social responsibility. These pillars guide our company’s goals, giving us impetus for improvement and excellence in all aspects of our operations.

The Annual Report 2023 features a new format aligned with our strategic priorities. It provides an overview of our accomplishments during 2023 and describes our plans for the upcoming years. With this new format, we intend to transparently communicate the progress of our strategic goals and demonstrate our commitment to accountability and transparency.

AAA firmly believes that transparently sharing its Annual Report is crucial for AAA, its stakeholders, and the Aruban community. By openly communicating about the development of Aruba’s only airport, the goal is to underscore the importance of a robust aviation infrastructure. Through this transparency, we aim not only to foster trust and understanding among our stakeholders but also to inspire others to prioritize openness and accountability in their operations.

Some key highlights in the Annual Report 2023 include serving more than 25 airlines with over 45 routes, including more than 5 new destinations, and two new airlines transporting over 2.9 million passengers, representing a 14% growth compared to 2022. Aruba Airport enjoyed increased passenger satisfaction and experience ratings reaching the highest level consistently, with scores of 4.50 and 4.32 on a 5-point scale, ranking as excellent. We successfully managed General Aviation (FBO) operations and achieved Green Globe Certification once again, as well as attaining level 3 of the ACI Carbon Accreditation program in 2023.

Joost Meijs, CEO of AAA, stated: “With great pride, we can recall another successful year for AAA and Aruba Airport. We could not have achieved our goals and highlighted aspects in 2023 without the support of the entire AAA team, stakeholders within the airport community, as well as external stakeholders within the aviation and tourism industry of Aruba. Our sincerest gratitude to every member of the AAA team and all stakeholders. We are committed to continuing to work towards becoming the leading airport in the Caribbean.”

In addition to the Annual Report, AAA has published its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report for 2023. This report provides detailed information on sustainability initiatives, community engagement efforts, and ethical business practices.
