Parliamentarian Rycond do Nascimento: I am against this law

Independent parliamentarian Rycond Santos do Nascimento, in his dissertation during the meeting on same-sex marriage, focused on his Christian beliefs, which he cited from the Bible as reasons why he cannot agree with the proposed law by four members of parliament to recognize same-sex marriage.

“All things must be balanced,” he said. Among other things, he mentioned the sentiments existing in the community and the need to consider Christian/Catholic values.

He stated that the purpose of women’s bodies is to give life. This is what human beings are designed to do. From a Christian perspective, God created women and men. And this is deeply rooted in our civil law and is not something that can be changed.

“Today, there is another model that expands the definition of marriage to include man with man and woman with woman. In this way, they want to show that each person wants to define their own personality. Although the purpose is to achieve maximum happiness, natural laws cannot be broken.”
