Shooting in Meiveld: Injured Person Arrives at Hospital in a KIA Cerato

On Thursday afternoon, an incident took place in front of a supermarket in Meiveld, ending in a shooting. Witnesses reported hearing at least four gunshots. There are indications that this was a drug deal gone wrong. Following the incident, one person fled the scene, even leaving behind their sandal, while another person was injured.

All signs point to the man in the KIA Cerato being the one who fired at those in the Honda Fit. The reason the man in the KIA Cerato was also the one injured was due to the exchange going south and him getting the beatdown of a lifetime.

According to initial information, a thorough investigation is currently underway at the Meiveld supermarket, where the incident occurred.

Both Oranjestad and Santa Cruz police were on-site, and the area was cordoned off to conduct the necessary investigation.

Security cameras show that a Honda Fit arrived at the scene, from which three individuals disembarked and walked towards the KIA Cerato, parked a bit further up. In the footage, one of the men was seen reaching for his abdomen a few times. After some time, shots were fired, prompting all three individuals to flee the scene in the black Honda. One fourth individual, also a male, ran away from the scene.

Both Oranjestad and Santa Cruz police are at the scene, and the entire area has been sealed off to conduct the investigation.

According to our sources, the man in the KIA Cerato arrived at the hospital with the car covered in blood. The firearm used in the shooting incident at Meiveld was still in his possession.
