On Saturday, June 13th, the Department of Culture will convene a series of meetings with representatives from Aruba’s cultural sector.

According to Liesje Proveyer, representative of the Department of Culture, the event will consist of six sessions held at the J.F.K. Educational Center. These will take place in three rounds, with two sessions running simultaneously in each time slot.

The program will begin at 10:00 am with sessions on Cultural Heritage and Natural Heritage, as well as Performing Arts. At 1:00 pm, participants can attend sessions on Music and Visual Arts. The final round at 4:00 pm will focus on Press and Literature, along with Creative Design, including film and audiovisual production.

The sessions are intended to help define the cultural sector more clearly and to inform the public about the data collected by the Department of Culture regarding the cultural domain and creative industries. They will also provide an explanation of the 2035 vision for the sector, while giving participants the opportunity to share feedback on its feasibility and suggest possible adjustments.

Overall, the goal is to present existing information, gather input from the community, and help guide the future direction of cultural development in Aruba.
