A donation collection tent has been set up outside Ling & Sons, where volunteers are gathering relief supplies to be sent to Venezuela.
‘Fundacion Funda Procura’ volunteer Alvenis Troconos explained that the site serves as a collection point, after which all donations will be transported to the main collection center at Paseo Herencia. Troconos said volunteers will remain at Ling & Sons until 8:00 pm.
Most donations have come from members of the Venezuelan community, but Arubans and tourists have also contributed. Organizers are encouraging anyone who is able to stop by and make a donation at the collection center.
At this time, the most urgently needed items are canned food and non-perishable goods that can be stored for long periods. Organizers said they have already received enough clothing and are now focusing mainly on medicines and food supplies.
They are calling on the community to come together and lend a helping hand so that all donations can reach Venezuela as soon as possible.
