The 100th radiation treatment at IMSan

Today, Instituto Medico San Nicolas(IMSan) treated its 100th radiation patient. This new service started only six months ago, and it is going well. It is giving positive results for the patients, not just financially but also because they are being treated close to home and family.

According to Dr. Joel Rajnherc, director of IMSan, a big investment was made together with Baptist Health to obtain special equipment and experienced personnel. Before this service was made possible here in Aruba, cancer patients had to go to Colombia, the US, or The Netherlands for radiation treatment.

This project was started by Ex-Minister dr. Richard Visser and was further developed by Ex-Minister dr. Alex Schwengle and the current Minister of Public Health, Dangui Oduber.
