6th traffic death: 24- year old tourist

Saturday around 11:10 pm, there was an accident on Watty Vos Boulevard at the roundabout of Bushiri/Madiki. When the first police unit arrived, together with 24ora.com, they encountered a white rental car, a Hyundai Accent with numberplate V-3963. The car was heading in the direction of Bushiri when it crashed on the roundabout for an unknown reason. An investigation will determine how the accident happened.

There were four passengers in the vehicle, two male and 2 female. Three of the passengers were slightly injured, while the female driver was more critical. A witness told 24ora.com that they got two of the passengers out of the car, but the other two were more critical. We confirmed the story when the first police unit arrived and confirmed that the driver barely has a pulse.

Immediately they called for firefighters, ambulance, traffic police, and forensic police. The firefighter who arrived together with the equipment trolley was the first to arrive at the scene and get the third passenger out of the vehicle. Unfortunately, much could not be done for the driver. All three of the passengers were transported to the hospital to receive medical attention.

The paramedics worked hard on the driver, but nothing could be done. Moments later, Dr. Texier, the prosecutor, and head of the traffic police department arrived at the scene. At 12:15, Dr. Texier pronounced the 24-year-old female driver with the initials K.C. dead. In an interview with Liliana Rasmijn, substitute spokesperson for KPA, she informed us that the driver lives in the USA but could confirm her Nationality. Around 1:05 am, the body was transported to a mortuary.

The tourist is the 6th traffic death for this year. Statistics show that last year Aruba had only five traffic deaths.

Headlines Group, the editorial house of 24ora.com, extends their sincere condolences to the family during these difficult times.
