This afternoon around 5:15 pm, police were sent to the dam in Rooi Afo. Police met up with the farmer “Franklin,” who told them about a safe he has seen for a few days. Today it was a bit closer, so he brought it to shore.
Franklin told 24ora.com that he has been going to the dam for 4 to 5 days now and keeps seeing a floating object. Because of the dam, he wasn’t able to catch it.
When he took the object out of the water, he realized that it was a safe-deposit box, so he decided to call the police. The safe was found open with only a rock in it, which was probably used to sink the safe.
There was nothing else valuable in it. It is not known how many days the safe has been in the dam.
