Monday afternoon at around 4:00 pm, the police gave the driver of a white Toyota Yaris a signal to stop in Tarabana. Instead of stopping for the police, however, the driver attempted to flee.
The driver dumped the vehicle in a yard in Mandolinstraat. When the police went to tend to the driver, it turns out that he did not have a valid driver’s license on him. This was reason for the police to detain the driver and transport him to the police station. Since the vehicle’s papers were in order, the police had no reason to confiscate it.
