National Library organized cultural event for kids

For many years, the National Library of Aruba has been organizing small activities for children from 3 to 16 years old.  

In recent times, many young people over 16 years old have also been coming to the Library to listen to the cultural part of Aruba’s history and to participate in activities. Glenda Zavala-Maduro, Activity Coordinator at the National Library, explained that their activities vary and often involve hands-on work. The idea behind the midday activities is to promote storytelling, reading, book promotion, and inviting writers to come and tell their stories. These are the activities they do every Tuesday, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  

This year, the National Library has decided to bring even more culture to their activities. They also promote storytelling and hands-on work, but the cultural aspect will remain present in their activities. Their first activity had the Bernadina Grovell Foundation as a guest.  

The Bernadina Grovell Foundation came to the Library’s activity to give a presentation about the life and career of Aruba’s Mother of Culture, Bernadina Grovell.
