High Rise reconstruction project will last seven weeks

The High Rise Hotel Reconstruction Project Phase 1 has finally begun. The reconstruction of the main road in front of the High Rise hotels has been requested for a long time, considering it is the most important economic sector for Aruba. After many months of preparation, it has been put into action.

I spoke with Elisa Chieh Chen, Communication Manager at DOW, who explained that Phase 1 of the High Rise Hotel Road Reconstruction project is the section between the Riu Palace Antilia and South Beach.

The project is divided into three phases. The second phase covers the area from South Beach to Holiday Inn, which will be carried out in 2025, and finally, the part to beautify the areas on the side will be completed in 2026.

Work began on Monday and will encompass seven weeks in total. It starts with completely removing the asphalt layer to lay down a new layer. The sewage system, which is currently causing many problems, will also be repaired.

This is a project worth 3.2 million florins for the first phase, carried out by a local construction company. The projects are divided into different phases to allow more companies to participate.

We ask that drivers keep this construction into account and thank them for their patience and understanding. There are diversion routes marked, and at one point, a U-turn is permitted to achieve better traffic flow. The changes are made in such a way that everyone can reach their destination.
