Dutch flag raised at roundabout to celebrate King Willem-Alexander’s birthday

Tomorrow, both the Netherlands and the Dutch Caribbean islands will be celebrating King Willem-Alexander’s 57th birthday. Since his ascension to the throne, following the abdication of Princess Beatrix, King’s Day has been celebrated on April 27th, which is King Willem-Alexander’s birthday.

The Dutch Caribbean islands also celebrate this day. In Aruba, one of the ways to decorate for the occasion is at the roundabout in front of the airport. The flags of both Aruba and the Netherlands were raised, but an orange ribbon was also added. In this way, Aruba shows that it is part of the celebration for King Willem-Alexander’s birthday.
