Aruba Paralympic Committee satisfied with its Easter Funwalk

Trhere was an acitivy in Colony on Saturday afternoon organized by the Aruba Paralympic Committee.During this event, there was an egghunt, games for children, facepainting, and more. Glenda Thomasia, president of Aruba Paralympic Committee, commented that they organized their Annual Fun Walk.

They have been organizing this for the past seven years for those with disabilities. The goal of this is for them to have the opportunity to interact and for everyone to learn a little more about the sports that people with disabilities play.

Besides the funwalk, there were other foundations present at this event to demonstrate what they do for the community. Activities such as these are important for various reasons, one of them is to give children with disabilities a reason to get out of the house, as they are oftentimes not able to get out much.

It is also important for children without disabilities to know that these children with disabilities exist. According to Glenda Thomasia, children are oftentimes preoccupied with other things and they do not even know that there are children out there who do not have both hands, feet, or sight.

There were two routes in the Funwalk, one longer one for the adults and a shorter one for the children. In the end, Glenda Thomasia, thanked everyone who helped out during the event and stated that it is important for children to see that not everyone is as fortunate as them.
