Athlete Leewald Tromp represented Aruba in Berlin

The athlete Leewald Tromp was in Berlin to participate in the ‘World Games Special Olympics’ and represented Aruba in Table Tennis’/ Ping Pong.

He participated in both the ‘Doubles’ category together with Zayen Orman as well as in the ‘Singles’ category. For the Singles category, Leewald placed fifth, and together with his partner Zayen Orman, they managed to bring home the bronze medal in the Doubles category.

Leewald told 24ora.com that he is very pleased with his performance in Berlin. Some of the games did not go as he had hoped, as the strategy he made did not guarantee his victory in all the matches. He had hoped to use the ‘backhand’ as his ace against the competition, but to his surprise, many opponents were actually quite skilled in the backhand.

The most important thing for Leewald is that Aruba was represented in the Special Olympics events, so he is proud to have been able to do so.
