A.T.A. launches Aruba Limpi campaign

During a recent press conference, the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) together with “Ban Serio!” announced a campaign called “Aruba Limpi” which translates to Aruba Clean, and hopes to reinforce their promise to keep the island clean in a sustainable manner. Under the motto “A pleasant Aruba to live in, is a pleasant Aruba to visit”, A.T.A. hopes to be able to bring awareness and encourage the community to come together to make Aruba a cleaner place.

The Aruba Limpi campaign is an extension of the “Limpi Limpi” campaign that was introduced last July. The main goal is to bring awareness to the importance of keeping our island clean, addressing topics that are crucial for our residents as well as for our visitors. By educating the local community on our responsibility to help protect the environment, they hope to benefit everyone now as well as future generations.

The campaign will last 3 months and hopes to stimulate responsible behavior with multiple initiatives. This includes the opportunity to win a free residential waste disposal subscription by the end of the campaign. Additionally, the campaign will be working together with various other non-government organizations, such as Scubble Bubbles, to organize beach cleanings and cleanings at two other district locations around the island. Together with “Ban Serio”, they will work on special incentives to bring awareness to our children and teens. In the month of November, schools will be able to participate in the Aruba Limpi campaign by filming a message and potentially getting a chance to win a cleaning for their school.

“We believe that a clean Aruba is not only our duty, it is a reflection of our love and commitment to our beloved island. By uniting our forces with this campaign, we can make a serious impact and great a more sustainable future for Aruba” says Ronella Croes.
