The Police’s Drug Unit together with the ‘Douane’ have been working together for the past few weeks on a huge drug case revolving around individuals selling drugs to tourists in the hotel area. The drugs are suspected to come from The United States, and it is likely due to lax inspections at the border when American tourists enter the island.
Multiple arrests have been made recently, just last week a tourist from New York was detained. The 43-year-old American man, initials P.J.G., was highly suspected to be working together with someone on the island.
The investigation continues and on Saturday morning, a second arrest took place. This time, the 21-year-old Jamaican man, initials F.S.G.G., was detained
A large amount of drugs was found during both arrests and there will likely be more arrests to follow.
