Major alarm around KIA in the early morning: this time, people attempted to enter

Due to suspicious activity in the area in the past few days, there is more rigorous control around the Aruba Correctional Institute (KIA). This past weekend, authorities were alerted of a vehicle with its lights off driving nearby, but upon further inspection, nothing unusual was found.

However, early Wednesday morning, the alarm went off again, at around 1:25 a.m., indicating that two suspicious individuals were noticed attempting to enter the prison.

These two individuals did their best to get into KIA, but security personnel was immediately activated. The two individuals ran off the road and headed towards the surrounding woods to hide.

In the meantime, the police also arrived to reinforce the KIA team in their search. If there were to be any confrontation or if the two individuals happened to be armed, it would be better for the police to be present as well.

They started a thorough search of the area, but to their surprise, they did not find anyone. The intentions of these two suspects are unknown, but they need to be aware that their actions are highly dangerous, given that it’s a heavily guarded area with potentially serious consequences for any suspicious movement.
