Police Union: delay in new police uniforms and vehicles

The Police Force is lacking several things, including uniforms that are delayed. The goal was to have new uniforms before the end of the year, but it seems that this will not be possible. According to Rodney Solognier, president of SPA (Police Union), he explained that the uniforms were indeed delayed, and the union was displeased.

There was an agreement to arrange this earlier, Solognier explained. However, there have been issues with the supplier since June. Also, there was a last-minute issue with the model, as it was not liked. Solognier indicated that they saw the model, and even SPA disapproved of it.

Finally, different models were presented to the personnel to choose from. Now the staff has agreed and chosen one of the models. Rodney Solognier continued to explain that while everything is progressing, the exact arrival date for the uniforms is not known.

BID FOR CARS

Just the other day, Irausquin won the bid for cars but not much was heard after that. According to Solognier, everything is in progress. They have spoken with the agency to shed more light on the cars. The current police cars have an issue in which their lights are not as visible due to them not shining brightly enough.

Now, it is arranged to have more lights on the cars to provide better visibility from all angles. This has also caused a slight delay as the newly added lights have caused an adjustment to the schedule.
