Over the past three weeks, the Christmas Rapid tournament took place (November 29 to December 6), followed by the Christmas Blitz tournament on December 13. In the Christmas Rapid, each player has 15 minutes to finish their game, and after each move, they receive a 5-second bonus.
A total of 10 players participated. Mario Jansen finished in first place with a total of 16 points (no losses and 2 draws). Second place went to Henry Knepa with 15 points (1 loss and 1 draw), and third place was Hector Winterdal (2 losses).
The Christmas Blitz has a faster format. In this format, each player has 5 minutes to finish their game, and after each move, they receive a bonus of 3 seconds. Eight players participated in this format.
Frans Citroen secured the first-place position in the Christmas Blitz. He did not lose any games and only drew one. In second place, we find Hector Winterdal, who drew two games and lost one. Third place went to Henry Knepa, who lost two games and drew one.
The winners received a Christmas basket as their prize. Two additional baskets were raffled among all club members who did not win a basket. The raffle winners were Daniel Diaz and Eddy Oduber.
