Two Aruban racers participated in the drag competition in the United States

Two drag racers, Vernima Angela and Courtney Wouters, participated in the Latin American Import World Challenge championship in Orlando Florida.

Courtney Wouters, a drag racer, mentioned that the experience at Orlando Speed World was something new, and they went through tough moments. They had to struggle significantly before achieving their goal.

Wouters competed in the motorcycle category, which had nine competitors. Many of the motorcycles were from the United States, but the riders were Puerto Rican. He even confirmed his intention to continue competing internationally. One of the goals they have in mind is to score points in the Orlando Speed World standings.

Vernima Angela, another drag racer, competed with her pickup and set a personal best time. In Orlando, she also participates in various competitions. She explained that things are going well, and they started from scratch. She sent her car to the USA for some work, and when it was ready, in October, Angela participated in her first event. The result was good, and they continue to improve each time they compete.

At the end of the weekend, she set a personal best time. She explained that they lowered the boost to run the 7.50 index. However, she ran a 7.16 index over 200 meters, which was a new experience for her. The feeling for this achievement was something she couldn’t explain. However, in the USA, they are a bit strict with the rules.

According to Angela, after completing the 200 meters, they stopped and had to switch to two parachutes. When they have to go back, it adds additional costs because they need to use two parachutes. They are in discussions with the team, but they believe they will return between April and May.

She went with the mentality to win in her category but regrets breaking the fourth and fifth gears. She needs to replace those and move forward. They are there to set a six-second time. In her next race, according to Angela, she will make her maximum effort to achieve that time. Angela thanked everyone who supported her and didn’t forget her sponsors.
