Wednesday night at around 11:00 pm, people in Matadera noticed smoke and immediately notified the relevant departments. Initially, there was talk of a house on fire.
The police quickly arrived at the scene to begin managing the situation while the firefighters were on their way. Upon arrival, it was noticed that it was a bushfire and that it was threatening an apartment complex.
