Ongoing construction project injures a beachgoer

For some time now, the construction of a new hotel near the beach has been taking place. Something that has been feared for quite some time has unfortunately occurred. A part of the construction material fell, leaving a visitor to our island injured.

This accident took place at the construction site of the St. Regis Hotel on Sunday morning while tourists were enjoying the beach. In the blink of an eye, a piece of tubing fell from the air, injuring the tourist.

An ambulance was called to the scene immediately.

The ambulance urgently transported the victim to the hospital for medical attention. Now it is a matter of scrutiny regarding how seriously our government departments are working and whether they are conducting the necessary inspections. Among them, is the Technical Inspection Service (DTI), which is supposed to ensure that everything proceeds according to safety standards.

DTI has many tasks but seems to neglect certain aspects. For example, even in every office, from the smallest things, they can issue fines. For instance, if the office chair is not optimal or if the computer screen is too high and may cause harm to the worker’s health, and much more. But for these types of inspections, they seem to neglect their responsibilities.
