Let’s hit the streets to celebrate King’s Day!

BARiO UNiCO is a project under CEDE Aruba focusing on revitalizing and sustaining Community Centers and neighborhood development in Aruba. To help achieve the goals of motivating the community to return to the Community Centers, fostering unity, and promoting health and well-being in neighborhoods, CEDE Aruba teamed up with IBiSA in 2023.

Recognizing the need to provide information, in 2023 CEDE Aruba and IBiSA initiated the “BAN CAYA” project. Noord was the first district chosen, followed by Paradera/Piedra Plat. Two successful “BAN CAYA” events yielded positive outcomes for the neighborhoods and the Community Centers.

Given this positive development, CEDE Aruba and IBISA agreed to continue “BAN CAYA” in 2024 with 4 more editions. The first edition will take place on Saturday, April 27th, in San Nicolas. Pastoor Hendrikstraat, from the small roundabout near Filomena College to St. Paulus School, will be closed for this event. “BAN CAYA 2024” in San Nicolas is hosted by the Brazil Community Center and the Lago Heights Community Center.

There will be a total of 46 activity and information points along the entire route and also under the canopy of YMCA and in the Joe Laveist Stadium. “BAN CAYA” San Nicolas will feature a wide variety of entertainment, including sports, social, cultural, artistic, and culinary sections. For children, there will be a kids’ corner, health information at the health tent, family games, and the opportunity to buy delicious food and cool drinks.

Activities will run from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. All performances will showcase local talents from San Nicolas, creating a lively atmosphere. Groove Masters and “ATANIRO and Band” will close the BAN CAYA KING’S Edition. Filomena College has made its grounds available for parking.

Upon arrival, you can request an information folder about the different activities, and announcements will be made throughout the afternoon about upcoming activities. Everyone on the island is invited to celebrate King’s Day at Ban Caya in San Nicolas!
