Stingray Swimming Team is celebrating a major achievement after Elisabeth Timmer qualified for the Pan American Games. While some athletes are remembered for winning competitions and others for breaking records, Timmer is doing both while helping reshape the history of Aruban swimming.
Competing at the prestigious Dutch National Championships, one of the strongest national swimming competitions in the Netherlands, Timmer once again demonstrated that success is built through discipline, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
New Aruban record in the 50-meter butterfly
Timmer opened the championships with a remarkable performance in the 50-meter butterfly, finishing in 27.36 seconds. The result earned her a new Aruban national record, highlighting her continued development as an elite swimmer and establishing a new benchmark for women’s swimming in Aruba.

Qualifies for the Pan American Games
Timmer also delivered an outstanding performance as the lead swimmer in the 400-meter freestyle relay, recording a 56.28-second split in the 100-meter leg. Her performance not only set another Aruban national record but also secured the official “A” qualifying standard for the Pan American Games, marking an important milestone in her international career.
An inspiration for young athletes
Beyond the records she continues to break, Timmer’s achievements send a powerful message to young athletes. Every improvement she makes is more than just another statistic. It reflects the value of hard work, consistency, and dedication, showing that ambitious goals can be achieved through perseverance and determination.
Stingray Swimming Team says its mission extends beyond developing fast swimmers. The club is equally committed to building character, leadership, and a champion’s mindset. Timmer’s accomplishments reflect Stingray’s dedication to developing high-performance athletes and preparing Aruban talent to compete successfully on the international stage.
