A tourist escaped serious injury Tuesday afternoon after losing control of a UTV during a guided tour near the Post Tango fire station.
The tourist was reportedly driving as part of a group following a tour guide when the vehicle veered off the main road and crashed into a ditch.
The tourist sustained a scrape to the leg but did not suffer serious injuries and was able to continue with the tour.
The UTV sustained material damage and had to be removed from the ditch by the tour company.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of exercising caution when operating these vehicles. It also comes as Aruba’s UTV and ATV tourism sector faces ongoing scrutiny over the management and safety of activities involving these vehicles.
