100 people Naturalized

In the presence of Governor Alfonso Boekhoudt, 100 people swore in during the Naturalization Ceremony on December 15, 2020.

Participation at this ceremony is the last step of a long process to obtain Dutch nationality. During the ceremony, they mentioned that December 15 is both Kingdom Day and the official Naturalization Day.

The Governor reflected on what it means to have the Dutch nationality, its rights, and the obligations Dutch citizens have regarding Aruba’s society.

The procedure to obtain Dutch nationality through naturalization is prescribed in the “Rijkswet op het Nederlanderschap (Dutch Nationality Act).” For more information, visit www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/nederlandse-nationaliteit/nederlander-worden.

The trajectory is according to the decree “Verkrijging en Verlies Nederlandschap” (Obtaining and losing of Dutch citizenship), putting into practice articles 21 and 23 of the “Rijkswet op het Nederlanderschap.” For more information on the procedure in Aruba, visit the website
