After rescue efforts: Macaw Dior is back home

Within 24 hours that Macaw Dior flew away from his home in Weg Fontein, he is safely back home.

Around 6:00 pm, a Macaw got lost in the area of Weg Fontein, which left his family very sad. So they asked everyone to help find their Macaw.

As soon as the news broke out on 24ora.com, the family started receiving phone calls from residents of Pastoor Hendrickstraat claiming to have seen the Macaw high in a Coconut tree.

Firefighters from Tanki Flip, with the necessary tools, arrived at the scene to help catch the Macaw. But during this process, unfortunately, the Macaw flew away and was out of sight.

The search continued Wednesday morning around 7:00 am when the owner, Juan David, was notified that the Macaw was in a tree in the area of Scol di Arte in San Nicolas. That”s when the owner was finally able to catch the Macaw.

“Our family is grateful to everyone who helped look for Dior. We want to thank the team of Firefighters for their awesome job and 24ora for activating and informing the community right away.”
