During the night on Friday, an incident occurred at a police station that left the community and family in shock.
Apparently, when authorities went to inspect the cells in the station, they found that one of the detainees was not showing any signs of life. An ambulance was called to the station immediately, but when the paramedics arrived, the person was no longer alive. The doctor was notified right away.
The detainees’ loved ones had also been notified and could be seen crying at the scene. The Victim Support Team’s Janine Rodriguez also arrived at the scene to support all those affected by what had happened.
Around two months ago, a similar case occurred in KIA during which a prisoner became ill in his cell. On this occasion, the prisoner had become ill, but by the time they notices, he was already no longer showing any signs of life.
Another similar case that took place at a cell in a police station was that of singer and composer Antoni Gario.
The artist was detained on the 17th of June, 2022, and by the 19th of June 2022, they found his lifeless body in a cell at the police station in Shaba.

In this previous case, the Public Ministry got involved because the incident took place in a police station. We never received the results of this investigation.
