Aruba won several awards in the 5k Tropical Run in Miami

On Saturday morning, thousands of people, including many from Aruba, participated in the 5-kilometer Tropical Run in Miami. The route started from Watson Island and ended at Miami Beach. The first person to reach the finish line completed the run in just 15 minutes. 24ora.com was present, and we saw several Arubans who participated. We managed to interview some of them to hear about their experiences in Miami.

Xyon Jacobs is a young man who participated for the first time in an outdoor running competition. In the past, he participated in a triathlon in the Bahamas. For Xyon, the experience was a positive one. He mentioned that the ascent of the bridge leading to Miami Beach was a bit challenging, but despite that, everything went well. He came in second place in his age category. For 3 seconds, he could have been in first place. He wishes to participate in Miami again in the future.

Dayron Solognier also participated in the competition. Although he can run much faster than before, he is still happy to have been able to participate. Due to some health issues, he only trained for a week.

Noelia van Rijn is another young participant. In Aruba, she trained intensively, covering distances even longer than 5km. She also faced the challenge of the bridge. What she likes most about Miami is the shopping centers.

Illiene Lopez wanted to participate in the half marathon. However, there was no more space for her in that category, so she decided to participate in the 5km run instead. Illiene mentioned that she enjoys this race because of the early morning start time, which helps avoid the strong sun on your face while running. This sport helps build mental strength and discipline.

Young Leah Lejeuz also emerged as the #1 winner in her category. 24ora.com will conduct an interview with her on Sunday.

Congratulations to all the other Aruban runners who participated and received awards. Stay tuned for coverage of the Miami Full & Half Marathon, which will take place on Sunday morning in Miami.
