The Secretary-General of Defense visits the ABC Islands

Secretary-General of Defense, Maarten Schurink, made a work visit to the ABC Islands. He engaged in discussions with personnel from the Navy, Military Police, Army, and the Military Police located on the Dutch Caribbean Islands.

With a coastline of approximately 900 kilometers, heavy air and sea traffic make this a dynamic area where threats are not only hypothetical. Together with the Coast Guard, Customs, Police, and surrounding countries, the Defense works collaboratively to ensure security in the Dutch Caribbean Region.

Secretary-General Maarten Schurink stated, “Especially in this time when we are preparing ourselves for an undesirable conflict within the next five to ten years, we need each other. Within the Kingdom and beyond the Kingdom.”
