During a press conference organized by the Minister of Economic Affairs, mr. Geoffrey Wever, on Thursday morning, the opportunity was taken to ask about the expectations regarding gas prices in the coming months.
The question was asked in the context of global affairs including the conflict between Ukraine and Russia and the coming winter months with demand expected to rise. The Netherlands currently has an emergency contingency plan for this situation. To this, Minister Wever briefly mentioned that gas prices are monitored daily and is expected to decrease.
“We are now monitoring the prices. The current indicators point to a decrease in the coming two to three months. These are monitored daily. The latest indicators revealed a decrease once again”, according to the Minister. Based on this information, it can be said that prices are expected to decrease in October.
